Main Duties

Looking for a reliable Front of House Team Member to support our live comedy shows in London. Comedy Freaks runs weekly stand-up comedy events across Kings Cross and Camden. We need someone responsible, independent, and able to handle the logistics of running a live show. This is an on-site position based at our London venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Arrive before doors open to set up the room: arranging chairs, preparing seating layout, checking the stage area, and preparing the space for the show
  • Welcome audience members as they arrive and guide them to their seats
  • Manage comedians during the show: greeting them on arrival, showing them where to go, keeping them informed on timings
  • Handle audience queries or issues during the show with calm authority
  • Ensure the show starts on time and runs to schedule
  • Support pack-down after the show: resetting chairs, collecting any lost property, ensuring the space is left tidy
  • Optional (nice to have): support basic show checks if trained (sound/lighting/camera basics)

Schedule & Commitment:

  • Excellent, consistent availability on Friday and Saturday evenings (5:00pm to 10:30pm, occasionally until 11:00pm)
  • Occasional Wednesday availability is a plus (not every week, but sometimes needed)

Skills and Experience Required

Requirements:

  • Excellent availability on Friday and Saturday evenings (5:00pm to 10:30/11:00pm)
  • Responsible and reliable: comedy shows run on tight schedules and we need someone who ensures they stick to schedule
  • Able to work independently and use your initiative to solve problems quickly
  • Good with people: friendly and professional with audiences and performers, but able to be firm when needed
  • Comfortable with physical setup (chairs/room reset) and being on your feet for most of the shift
  • Open to learning simple show operations and tech basics using a checklist (even if you have not done it before)
  • Prior hospitality, events, or customer-facing experience is a bonus but not essential
