Our not just a shop open call is now open for submissions from all current UAL students, graduates and alumni! not just a shop sells a wide range of gifts, cards and wrapping paper, exclusively made by UAL students and graduates. Makers can apply through one of two routes for the opportunity to be stocked in our online and retail shops.

Robotics After School Club Leader

Salary £40 per hour session which goes up to £45 per hour after 2 terms of teaching.
Hours Sessions are generally 1 hour and run on a weekly basis during term time from either 12:30 - 1:30 or 3:30 - 4:30pm. At some schools we run 2 sessions in succession

Main Duties

Interested in learning to teach Coding & Robotics to children?

We are a team of designers, artists, actors and coders that are on a mission to inspire children with innovative ways of using technology to explore creativity.

We run lunchtime and after school clubs for students aged 4 – 13.

Examples of some of the bots we currently work with, are

Sphero’s (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxFNCRYbMe4)

We are also starting to work with Micro:Bit, Virtual Reality, Scratch, Arduino and a number of block coding platforms.

  • Full training is provided

  • All teaching materials and lesson plans are provided

  • We have a community of teachers to share teaching tips and ideas with

  • Sessions are generally 1 hour and run on a weekly basis during term time from either 12:30 – 1:30 or 3:30 – 4:30pm. At some schools we run 2 sessions in succession

  • There are additional paid opportunities to design your own lessons and challenges

  • Sessions happen at different schools across London – To minimise travel, each club leader teaches at schools closest to them

  • The starting rate of pay is £40 per hour session which goes up to £45 per hour after 2 terms of teaching. We also cover travel expenses and if cycling we also pay £5 per session.

Skills and Experience Required

Job Requirements

You need to:

  • Be confident working with children

  • Be able to commit to teaching at least 1 weekly hour session

  • Have an Enhanced DBS certificate (if you don’t have one we can apply for one on your behalf).

  • Be willing to partake in a 2 hour training and complete our safeguarding documentation

  • No teaching qualification is required
