Paid Freelance Opportunity – 3D sculptor / designer

Main Duties

London-based contemporary artist preparing a solo exhibition is seeking a high-level 3D sculptor to assist with the digital development of sculptural works for 3D printing in castable resin (lost-wax / investment casting workflow).

Due to time constraints, sculptures will be digitally sculpted and prepared as production-ready STL files, rather than hand-modelled in wax.

This is a paid freelance role with the potential for repeat collaboration.

Scope:

• Translate sketches / painting into a refined digital sculpture
• Sculpt in Blender (or ZBrush → Blender acceptable)
• Prepare clean, watertight STL suitable for castable resin printing
• Ensure correct wall thickness, structural integrity, and casting feasibility
• Provide iteration rounds based on artistic and foundry feedback

Skills and Experience Required

• Strong digital sculpting skills (figurative or organic forms)
• Excellent Blender proficiency
• Understanding of 3D printing constraints for castable resin
• Ability to deliver precise, clean STL files
• Highly responsive, accurate, professional and deadline-driven

Nice to Have

• Experience with lost-wax / bronze casting workflows
• Experience preparing files for foundry use
• Prior collaboration with artists or sculptors
