Main Duties
The Role
We’re hiring a Content Lead & Social Media Manager who can both define and create Yanaa’s visual and narrative world.
You’re someone who makes beautiful content – and also knows the power of a perfectly timed joke, a playful detail, a human moment. Someone who can sit comfortably between artistic director and hands-on maker: imagining the story, then picking up the camera and making it real, then sharing it in a way that makes people want to join in.
This role lives at the intersection of:
- Film & photography
- Brand aesthetics & storytelling
- Graphic design
- Community & culture-building
- Early-stage marketing strategy
You’ll work closely with the founders and have significant creative autonomy. Your work won’t just support the brand – it will define it.
What You’ll Do
1) Visual & Narrative Creation (Core of the Role)
- Conceive, shoot, and edit high-level photo, video, and audio (documentary, editorial, campaign, social).
- Develop and evolve Yanaa’s visual language across platforms.
- Translate contrasting themes (gastronomy × sport × ecology × pleasure) into strong, distinctive imagery.
- Lead shoots end-to-end: from concept → pre-production → capture → post → publish.
- Make content that feels intentional, authored, and unmistakably Yanaa – with room for joy, weirdness, and warmth.
This is not about chasing trends or posting for the sake of posting. It’s about distinctiveness, coherence, craft, and impact.
2) Campaigns, Ideas & Creative Thinking
- Propose and develop original campaign ideas: launches, collaborations, events, stories.
- Work with the founders to move ideas from intuition → concept → execution.
- Think beyond “content”: films, series, experiences, cultural moments, collaborations.
3) Community & Culture
- Grow and nurture Yanaa’s community of athletes, creatives, and food lovers.
- Manage Yanaa’s online presence and engage thoughtfully: DMs, comments, conversations, partnerships.
- Build relationships with followers, customers, and athletes – with personality and sincerity (not corporate tone).
- Help create IRL moments: tastings, runs, dinners, gatherings, pop-ups, shoots.
- Be a human bridge between the brand and its audience — bringing people in, making them feel part of something.
4) Production & Project Ownership
- Define clear intentions before shoots: purpose, format, mood, constraints.
- Handle production logistics: locations, equipment, people, schedules.
- Shoot stills, video, and audio in a variety of styles and formats (with freelancer support when needed).
- Edit raw footage (with freelancer support when needed).
- Graphic design tasks (print, banners, and general creative)
- Own projects end-to-end with autonomy, momentum, and accountability.
5) Startup Life (Yes, Really)
- Support where needed: events, launches, tastings, last-minute chaos.
- Enjoy the pace and the messiness of building something real.
- Taste testing is, naturally, part of the job. (This is non-negotiable.)
Skills and Experience Required
Who We’re Looking For
This role is demanding – but rewarding. You’ll have the space to build a brand and community you’re genuinely proud of.
We’re open to a wide spectrum of profiles. You might be:
- An early-career creative with exceptional taste, instinct, and a portfolio that’s already alive.
- Or an established creative who’s autonomous, experienced, and looking for a meaningful project – with the possibility of equity in Yanaa.
What matters most is your values and capability, not your job titles.
You likely have:
- A strong portfolio in film and/or photography showing authorship and intention.
- An instinctive understanding of aesthetics, storytelling, and visual coherence.
- The ability to work independently and make creative decisions without hand-holding.
- Fluency in French and high-level English.
- and cultural understanding of outdoor sports and/or food.
- Comfort working remotely, with travel when needed.
- A sense of humour – and an ability to keep things light, even when it’s raining sideways and the shoot is chaotic.
- Interest in food, sport, outdoor culture, and human performance. You don’t need to be elite – but you do need to be comfortable chasing athletes around, and filming in outdoor and sometimes extreme environments.
- Scientific literacy and interested in communicating complex subjects in accessible and interesting ways (such as sports science and health)
- Social intelligence: you know how to talk to people, build relationships, and make a community feel like a community.
Bonus (not mandatory):
- Experience in brand-building, editorial, or cultural projects.
- A network in outdoor, endurance, food, or creative communities.
- Experience working in small, founder-led teams.
Why Join Yanaa?
- Shape a brand from the inside at a formative moment.
- Work directly with founders who care deeply about food, culture, science, and craft.
- High creative freedom and trust – real ownership, not “content requests”.
- Travel, events, and real-world experiences.
- Remote-first, with regular co-working and shoots in Annecy and across Europe.
- Possibility of equity for senior or exceptional profiles.
Build something that helps athletes fuel better – and nudges the wider food system in a more joyful, ecological direction.
