Main Duties

Job Description

As a Design Intern at COS, you will collaborate closely with our dynamic design team, contributing to the evolution of our brand aesthetics. Your role involves researching current trends, generating innovative ideas suitable for COS aesthetics, and translating them into clear and detailed technical sketches. In addition, you will provide valuable support in the creation of design boards, playing a key part in the overall design process.

What you will do:

  • Design research thoroughly for ideas and elevated details, and suggest new ideas suitable for the COS aesthetics.
  • Support in creating design boards that show the designers’ direction and vision.
  • Work creatively with the design team. Drape on the mannequin, customize garments, and stitch toiles.
  • Produce clear and detailed technical sketches using Adobe Illustrator and update as needed.
  • Update the collection overviews and assist with color ups.
  • Photograph and log any research or inspiration samples bought.Qualifications

    In addition to our values for this role we are also looking for:

    • Fashion design degree/qualification specialising in knitwear is desired.
    • Proficiency in technical drawings using Adobe Creative suite (especially Illustrator and Photoshop) ​
    • A team player with a positive, can do attitude.
    • Strong communication skills. ​
    • Excellent organisational skills​.
    • A high level of awareness of current trends.
    • Confident at sewing detailed samples.

What will the internship offer the student and what will they learn while they are with you? E.g. skills they could learn/develop and experience they could gain.

Your learning outcomes:

  • Gain an understanding of the design and product development process from concept to final production.
  • Develop technical knowledge across multiple product categories: Wovens, Knitwear, and Jersey.
  • Learn about fabric development, including composition, sustainability, and price.
  • Learn how to champion sustainability and uphold high-quality standards.
  • Experience how to collaborate with wider teams (Pattern and Buying)
