Pattern Cutting Assistant

Salary £28,000 per annum

Main Duties

Collection & Development

  • Collaborate closely with the Design team to understand creative requirements and translate them into clear, accurate technical documentation for seamstresses and factories.
  • Liaise with modelists and pattern makers to ensure all patterns include the required technical information and supporting files.
  • Review and validate patterns to confirm compliance with technical and construction standards.
  • Maintain a global overview of construction and finishings across the collection, ensuring consistency and coherence between different styles.
  • Support the development process by identifying and reusing existing pattern bases where appropriate.
  • Keep the pattern and technical files library up to date, ensuring efficient access to pattern bases and development resources for all teams.

Normalisation & Production Support

  • Check all showroom samples against corresponding technical files to ensure accuracy and alignment.
  • Update technical files and pattern documentation as needed following sample reviews.
  • Ensure that finalized technical documents are accurate, complete, and ready to be handed over to the Production team.
  • Support the smooth transition from development to production by maintaining clear and reliable technical information.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong understanding of pattern cutting, garment construction, and finishing techniques.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create technical documents and pattern files.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and maintain technical libraries.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with designers, pattern makers, seamstresses, and production teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced collection development environment.
  • Proficiency in LECTRA
