Technician for Ceramics studio

Main Duties

Technician required in exchange for 20 hours per week membership to a pottery studio in Hammersmith or Barnes, West London.  Training will be given to recycle clay using a pugmill, clean the studio, empty the sink trap, put the bin out and load the kiln. Bring in clay deliveries 12.5kg bags of clay. Help members of the studio by selling clay and recording sales. Record stock take. Labelling taster work from classes. Recording names of taster work when ready to collect. Training given to make glazes for classes and members to use. Skills and Experience Required

Entry level so would suit a ceramics student/ graduate. Good communication/written skills. Ability to organise own time/work independently. Lift bags of clay 12.5kg weight. Lift powdered ingredients 1kg-25kg weight. Throwing skills preferable to teach taster classes but training can be given. Must commit to 6 months work exchange for membership.
