Weekend Shop + Studio Assistants – Christmas Temps

Salary £13.15 per hour
Hours 7.5 - 15 hours per week
Location Peckham, London
Closing Date 31 October 2025
Position Type Temporary
Advert expires on 31 October 2025

Main Duties

We’re looking for a Shop & Studio Assistant to join our small colourful and friendly team based in Peckham, South London, as well as helping to cover at our temporary pop-up in Westbourne Park from November 26-December 29. This is a part-time temporary role to help with demand over the Christmas period, perfect for someone that’s detail-oriented, likes speaking to customers, is calm under pressure, and is comfortable working independently and used to working on their feet (literally – this is not a sit down role!) We will be looking for some to work 1-2 days a week over Saturdays & Sundays primarily, hours 10am-6pm. This is the perfect opportunity for someone wishing to supplement their freelance work, or to go alongside studying.

It’s important for us to note that this role will touch every facet of the business except for design. If you’re looking to join us with view to potentially help design eventually, this isn’t the role for you.

We are looking to fill the position ASAP, so do apply as soon as you can, as we will close applications as soon as we fill the positions.

Unfortunately we are not able to provide a visa/sponsorship for this role, so please only apply if you have the right to work in the UK. Please also note you’ll need to be London-based or willing to travel, as this is not the kind of job that can be done remotely.

– Customer service responsibilities. Your days will be in our stores, so this will also include keeping the store looking good and fully stocked, and helping and chatting with customers.

– Packing product ready to be shipped, ensuring all the right components and packaging are included with every item. This part definitely needs someone who has a keen eye for detail.

– Complete general housekeeping duties such as assisting with the organisation of packing materials and studio cleanliness.

Skills and Experience Required

– Someone who enjoys working in retail and chatting to customers.

– A highly organised person with strong attention to detail.

– Someone who is fast – days in the shop can get busy, and we get a lot of orders which need packed products, so we need someone that can match our pace.

– Great initiative and willingness to help with any task (like taking out the rubbish! We’re all hands on deck over here!) If you’ve ever been described as ‘on it’ in a previous job, you’ll be a strong contender for this role.

– Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

– Customer experience in either retail or online.

– Someone who loves art and design and really gets what we’re about as a brand, aesthetically. Also someone with attention to detail who understands the high standards we have for the product we send out to our customers.

– Plus, you must like cats! We have 2 cats that live in our studio and we all pitch in to keep them happy, so if you’re allergic to cats this probably isn’t the right role for you.
