Main Duties

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a dynamic and hands-on position at the heart of our bespoke manufacturing process, where craftsmanship meets precise coordination. As Production Assistant, you will help deliver exceptional, traditionally made furniture, working closely with skilled makers and the Head of Production to ensure every project progresses seamlessly from initial quotation to final delivery. You will be instrumental in streamlining communication, managing logistics, and safeguarding the exceptional standards for which Howe is renowned. This role offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of fine furniture making, contributing to a fun, fast-paced, collaborative team that values creativity, and dedication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Enquiries & Pricing

  • Liaise with skilled workshops to obtain accurate quotations.
  • Maintain up-to-date and well-organised pricing systems.
  • Monitor lead times and manage realistic project timelines.
  • Provide assistance with technical drawings when required.

Production Support

  • Circulate workshop schedules and orders, aligning internal workflows accordingly.
  • Share key order information between the Sales and Production teams.
  • Monitor hardware stock levels, anticipate requirements, and place orders as needed.
  • Oversee logistics between workshops.
  • Record meeting notes and ensure follow-up actions are completed.

Finished Product

  • Conduct quality control checks and record findings.
  • Organise packaging and branded materials.

Skills and Experience Required

PERSONAL QUALITIES

Essential:

  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to learn new production systems quickly.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
  • Professional discretion and sound judgement.
  • An interest in craftsmanship, traditional manufacturing techniques, or furniture design.
