Introduction
We are a specialist British menswear and design company whose major clients are high-end couture brands, other menswear brands, and Savile Row houses to whom we supply luxury hangers, garment bags, footwear, and leather accessories. We also have a budding consumer facet and have built a steady amount of recognition in our consumer niche during the past two years. Many of our consumer clients are enthusiasts in our niche or HNWI.
We have a new new flagship showroom in a prestigious location located in St James to serve these clients.
The Role
The successful candidate will be expected to aid all operations relating to the showroom and private lounge, including client-facing tasks, especially consumer sales. A affinity or passion for menswear, fashion design, men’s shoes or related is expected.
Secondly, to the extent of 20% of the job role, the candidate will also be in charge of a luxury shoeshining chair, and will be expected to operate this station during working hours at this prestigious location. A generous 15% commissions on will applicable on all regular shoeshining services, as well as individual discretionary tips by clients. Together, these will strongly supplement the hourly pay. These are Shoecare Ambassador roles.
The successful candidate will be part of a small, joyful team. Weekly team lunches are held and there are (on current average) 2-3 annual company events, which include art exhibitions, private member club dinners, et cetera. The next events will be showroom opening and a private short film screening.
This role is full time or part-time on a Rota basis depending on candidate preference.
It is our intention to attract talent and build a good team. Thus in addition to the above industry average salary, we offer a very generous commissions program, which consists of 2% individual and 2% “team pot” on all ex-vat revenues in store. This can be quite substantial and expected figures will be shared privately to candidates during the interview process. Together, the pay for this role should be market-leading.
Working Hours:
The showroom will be open 6 days a week. Flexibilty is afforded by way of a rota, which is self-determined by showroom staff. The current expectation is 2-5 working days a week.
Other Roles and Progression
Arterton is a new budding company, and we expect to grow in the next few years by way of additional locations, additional product lines, and increased marketing. There are opportunities for other roles and promotions. If the candidate posseses other skills and wish to transfer to or take on other roles, this will be considered on an ad-hoc basis by the director. Showroom assistants can progress to showroom assistant manager and, subsequently, showroom manager — all of which is dependent on performancee
