Description
The William Morris Society aims to perpetuate the memory of one of the greatest men of the Victorian age. The life, work, and ideas of William Morris are as important today as they were in his lifetime. The Society exists to make them as widely known as possible. The Society’s museum is located in Hammersmith, in the coach house and basement rooms of Kelmscott House; William Morris’ home and hosting space from 1878 until his death in 1896.
The Society is currently recruiting Learning and Education volunteers, a role which primarily includes assisting the planning and delivery of sessions for school groups and family learning workshops. No prior experience is necessary as all training and resources will be provided, however a willingness to learn about William Morris’ work is beneficial. The role would suit anybody looking to gain experience in the museums, arts and heritage sector, particularly working with schools or young people. Weekday availability is required.
If you are interested and would like more information, please email vanessa@williammorrissociety with a brief introduction about yourself and why you would like to volunteer as a Learning and Education Assistant, as well as a current CV.
