Main Duties
- Contribute to the development of cosmetic formulations for TFS Customers :
- Assist in ingredient selection
- Lab-scale manufacturing of trial formulations
- Complete stability testing for selected formulations
- Execute experimental plans to substantiate claims made for selected formulations
- Execute and manage tests including challenge and clinical testing
- Preparation and management of technical files (PIFs)
- Attend meetings with ingredient suppliers and attend trade shows
- Provide technical support to TFS customer projects.
- Document laboratory activities producing formal reports to be distributed as required. Conduct laboratory tasks following the TFS Health and Safety Guidelines.
- Prioritize and plan laboratory tasks to meet deadlines. Be proactive in suggesting project improvements/changes of direction.
- Contribute in improving TFS web site and presence in social media platforms.

The Formulation Studio (TFS) lab in Notting Hill (London) offers bespoke product formulation, the testing required to launch your cosmetics brand, and research and development for cosmetics ingredients to customers all over the world. The Formulation Studio offers an exciting opportunity for a Junior Technologist.
The Formulation Studio seeks for a driven and enthusiastic candidate who would like to take part in all aspects involving the formulation of cosmetic products. The candidate will be formulating cosmetics in the lab, take part in the process of selecting ingredients and earn the testing required to launch a cosmetics brand to the market. Experience with social media platforms would be an advantage. The Formulation Studio is in the Portobello Road area in Notting Hill (London) at the Westbourne Studios with a vibrant, energetic and hip atmosphere.
The candidate will be working closely with Dr. Jose Martinez Santiago who is the founder of The Formulation Studio. Jose has worked in the Personal Care industry for over 15 years, mainly with Ashland and Unilever. He had the privilege to work at the Center of Surfactants and Particulate Systems (CPaSS) at Columbia University in New York where he gained a doctorate in emulsion science. Jose has authored multiple scientific papers and patents related to cosmetics formulation and loves teaching and inspiring young scientists.
